Have you ever noticed that Anger is often about things that will not have any major effect on our lives, We seem to get angry about things that ""do not matter"" I say this in quotation marks, as it is unfair to say it does not actually matter because it must have mattered for it to have had the effect of making us angry in the first place . So why get angry about things that do not have a major effect on our lives, or better still why allow these things to matter to us at all? , a lot of the reason for this has probably from the self development work I have been doing for awhile, especially the concept of looking at the 'bigger picture' or ""does it really matter that someone got the parking space I wanted"", but I do still struggle with close relationships and conflicts within those relationships, I tend take them too personally, and it takes a determined conscious effort to stop myself getting upset with them about it
I think it was from an article on the benefits of meditation. "Less bothered by little things - Do you sometimes allow yourself to get upset by little things? It is the nature of the mind to magnify small things into serious problems. Meditation helps us detach. We learn to live in the here and now, rather than worrying about the past or future. We do not worry about meaningless things, but see the bigger picture."
